ryesteve 5/4/2011 3:48:34 PM | Have you ever developed a UDM that looked great at first, but eventually, the results ended up in the toilet? I suspect that's happened to all of us more times than not. What I didn't realize is, we're not alone. I listened to a terrific podcast today, and learned that research scientists experience this phenomenon with alarming regularity. So much so, that I also found a New Yorker article about this with the subtitle, "Is there something wrong with the scientific method?".
I don't think there's anything here that'll help your UDMs, but these are a fascinating listen and read. At the very least, you'll realize that we're not alone in this frustration.
