ryesteve 5/9/2008 4:19:31 PM | Maybe I'm not seeing the big picture here, but I see this as being bad for Churchill and Calder, not the industry. As purses there drop, and trainers take their horses elsewhere, and they all start losing a ton of money, wouldn't this serve as a cautionary tale to other racetracks and horseman's groups?

jeff 5/9/2008 5:52:50 PM | In the past I've really enoyed betting CD and CRC online this time of year. Naturally my view has to be anything getting in the way of that is bad for the "industry."
The players don't really have a say in this. And right now my view is that the players are paying a price in the battle between the tracks and the horsemen. I view the players as part of the industry too - just like the tracks and the horsemen are part of the industry.
IMHO, the sooner this nonsense is over with the better for all concerned.

ryesteve 5/9/2008 10:42:07 PM | I guess my viewpoint is clouded by the opposite bias... those are two tracks I don't do well at, anyway :) But if NYRA and Philly went away... that'd be a big problem for me...
