| JackB 5/6/2008 3:57:11 PM | TWO VEGAS QUALIFERS AT LOUISIANA DOWNS Total of $40,000 in prizes and 6 Vegas spots (Bossier City, LA) – Handicappers, sharpen your pencils! Two waves of qualifiers for the National Handicapping Championship will take place at Louisiana Downs during the 2008 race meet. Each round will consist of five pre-qualifiers which will culminate in a closed final with just 25 taking aim at $20,000 and 3 spots for Las Vegas. The first series begins on May 24, and the second begins on August 2. The entry for the five pre-qualifiers is just $100. The top five finishers in each of the pre-qualifiers earn a spot in the closed final which will include $20,000 in prizes plus 3 spots in the National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas. Each of the pre-qualifiers will take place at Louisiana Downs. The contests are scored based upon $2 Win/Place wagers on a set of races each day. | JackB 6/30/2008 10:51:08 AM | With only the 7/5 prelim to go in the first round, The first one, pulled a goose egg. Wife=10th approx 31 entries. The second one, 2nd,($500) wife 4th ($150) (on her own) both made 7/19 final. appprox 35 entries. The third one, skipped, was at Oaklawn. 18 entries The forth one, 2nd ($250), wife out, 41 entries Going back 7/5 for the 7/4 festivities. They've cut purse $$ due to low turn out. The first round final on 7/19 has no entry fee. If anyone is close, it's a cheap tourney to play and we have a crap load of fun. ~Edited by: JackB on: 6/30/2008 at: 10:51:08 AM~
