Video:

Switching Back and Forth Between Calendar Folders in the DFM and HDW File Mgr:

In the above video I use the +All button to highlight every chart file available for download on the HDW server.

That works when all of the chart files belong on the Current Active Data Folder displayed on the Download button.

The video was recorded on 12-31-2024 and all of the available chart files were from Q4 2024.

So the +ALL button works for that date (12-31-2024)

But you can't use the +ALL button when the rolling 45 days of files on the HDW server span two calendar quarters.

Shown in the following Video recorded on 01-02-2025:

Corrected Charts When the Available Files on the HDW Server Span Two Calendar Quarters:

It's that time of year again (thread bumped.)

The video at the top of the thread shows how to use the DFM to create folder structure for the coming new year.

The second video shows how to use the DFM and HDW File Mgr (and/or DFM and and HDW File Download Tool) to switch back and forth between the Old Year and New Year just before downloading files. (The third video shows how to switch back and forth between calendar quarters.)

• You need to be really careful about downloading files for the Old Year onto the Q4 folder for the Old Year, and downloading files for the New Year onto the Q1 folder for the New Year.

The videos are from last year (Old Year 2024 and New Year 2025.)

Use the same procedure for this year (Old Year 2025 and New Year 2026) and you should be fine.

If you have been running daily DBBuilds on the Q4 folder for the old year your last DBBuild on the Q4 folder for the old year will be in Mode 5.

Generally, your first DBBuild on the Q1 folder for the new year will be in Mode 4.

The One Exception to that would be a case based on the file size of your C:JCapper\Exe\JCapper2.mdb file.

If the file has gotten too big (1.4 gigabytes or larger) I suggest swapping out your current J2 file for a fresh blank copy of the J2 file from your most recent Install.

If that's the case:

After the final DBBuild on the Q4 folder for the old year:

Rename the JCapper2.mdb file on your C:JCapper\Exe\ folder to something like JCapper2_YE2025.mdb to archive the file and get it out of the way. (Also get a backup copy of that file onto an external hard drive or thumb drive.)

Watch the JCapper2 Imports Module Video:

Maximize the Player to Watch & hit the Escape key to shrink afterwards

Followed by:

1. Taking a fresh blank copy of the JCapper2.mdb file from your C:\JCapperBuild folder and copying it to your C:JCapper\Exe\ folder.

2. Bringing up the JCapper2 Import Module.

3. Setting the Source file as your renamed JCapper2_YE2025.mdb file.

4. Setting the Target file as the new JCapper2.mdb file that you just copied to your C:JCapper\Exe\ folder.

5. Checking the boxes for the the exact same tables shown in the JCapper2 Imports Module Video (above.)

6. Hitting the "GO" Button.

7. Running a Compact and Repair on your new JCapper2.mdb file.

That's It! (For the J2 Import.)

From here, run your first DBBuild of the New Year on your New Year Q1 folder in Mode 3 (followed by daily DBBuilds on that folder in Mode 5.)

Here's wishing every single one of you a HAPPY HEALTHY and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!!
