Contender Line |
NYMike 1/26/2022 10:30:59 AM | Is there a way to set the Contender Line based on UPR gap?
Thanks,
Mike

You can set limits in a UDM (never transitioned to SQL even though i thought years back i would because i have not found the need) and i use Silver for both rank and gap for the "out of the box" Silver UDM rating.
Now because of field size variation I also include that. So 10 horse field may go to UPR rank four and gap you decide, five horse field UPR rank 2 and UPR gap you decide.
This creates several UDM's I label horizontal 2 (doubles) ...
I have found per Benters stuff the public or opponents make bigger mistakes when the process is more complicated for example exotics and horizontal race wagers ( especially in small pool tracks so you wont get rich but you can get crazy payouts like 3X a parlay from a double on a 5k pool of course your limited to 10 or 20 dollars).
I have now with 3 years experience using this amazing tool Jeff has created some UDM's that actually work over and over, and in the horizontal wagers when my pick is in a race but none in the next or prior I use the out of the box with Rank and Gap to give me an idea of who i should include in the horizontal wager.
Full disclosure I am not a big bettor, nor am I trying to win the grandstand, just love the game and mostly work on the analysis, but play about once a month live at local Track/OTB depending on if they are running or just simulating and horizontals for me are very exciting introducing a little luck and excitement . If you are using the out of the box UDM test it against track/distance/surface etc to know how it works though.

NYMike 1/29/2022 12:37:11 PM | Tony, thanks. I'm really just talking about the Contender Line set up. It seems to be tied to field size.
Have been using JCapper for 10 years now. Love it. Hope life will slow down to have time to enjoy it more.
Thanks,
Mike

jeff 2/2/2022 12:54:30 PM | Right now as I type this:
1. The Html Report Generator is programmed to recognize the numeric Contender Line drop down selection saved on the last screen of the SQL Factor Setup Tool.
2. I'm putting the finishing touches on the first Full Platinum program update for 2022 and expect to have everything fully unit tested and available for download within the next 48 hrs.
3. I have considered adding a Contender Line SQL text box to the last screen of the SQL Factor Setup Tool. The idea here would be to enable the user to key a sql expression that (when saved) overrides the drop down for purposes of determining where the Contender Line gets drawn on the SQL Html Report.
Fyi, if I decide to do that it would be in a future program update. (Already too late to get that added to the current program update.)
