First, the Recovery Setup Routine Video:
This routine copies critical files to the C:\JCapper\_DB_Recovery folder, and creates a recovery point in the event something goes wrong during a DBBuild.
Run this routine every single time before running a DBBuild.
Next, the NUMBERED STEPS for Actual Recovery:
1. Bring up Windows File Explorer and navigate to your C:\JCapper\_DB_Recovery folder.
Screenshot:
Note: This is the folder where JCapper stores your recovery files (in case you need them.)
2. Copy your recovery files from the C:\JCapper\_DB_Recovery folder back to their original locations:
FileName Folder/Copy to Here ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JCapper.mdb C:\2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JCapper2.mdb C:\JCapper\Exe JCapperSDK.mdb C:\JCapper\Exe JCapper_TrackWeather.mdb C:\JCapper\Exe ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Do_3.txt Current Active Data Folder checked in the DFM Pl_Profile.txt Current Active Data Folder checked in the DFM EICA.csv Current Active Data Folder checked in the DFM ------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Using Windows File Explorer, find and DELETE the .DAT files created by your most recent DBBuild.
Screenshot:
The above screenshot shows the .DAT files created by my most recent 05-11-2025 DBBuild in Mode 5.
Note that I've pasted "*.DAT" (without the quotes) into the Search Box to display .DAT files on my Q2_2005 data folder.
Immediately followed by sorting them by clicking the Date Modified column header.
I've also highlighted the ones I want to get rid of (leaving the others intact.)
All I have to do to delete them is right click the highlighted group and select Delete.
That's It!
After performing the above steps Recovery is complete.
Everything is back the same as it was prior to my last DBBuild.
