New 2008 factors missing in UDM wizard and profile tables |
GlennF 4/11/2008 10:52:15 AM | I don't see any of the new factors in JCapper 2008 in the UDM wizard drop down menu or in the profile tables.

Noticed in data window dropdown that Userfactors 3 and 4 were missing from the choices.

I downloaded and extracted the files as instructed but still am not seeing the new factors in the UDM Wizard. I also tried re-downloading the install package. BTW I am using XP, not Vista.

jeff 4/11/2008 3:55:39 PM | Guys,
I should point out that you won't see fields for the new factors in either of the Profile Tables. But you should be able to find them in the factors drop downs of the UDM Wizard and Data Window.
In JCapper2008 I'm using a new strategy for having the program store and retrieve UDM info. The UDM Wizard, Data Window, and Profile Marker are using an XML schema to handle factor constraints for the new factors. The XML for factor constraints is being stored in the Notes field of the original Profile Table. It's a strategy that should allow me to continue to add new factors to the program well into the forseeable future without the need to add a third Profile Table.
I'll (eventually) be doing a full write up about the XML Schema in the help Docs - for the benefit of anyone interested in the details behind the technology and how it works.
But (as a user of the program) the important thing you need to know is that the new factors are all "grabbable" in the UDM Wizard.
