| pdavid6 4/10/2008 11:49:08 AM | I would like to use multiple sires in a UDM and I would like to know if there is any way of doing this outside of creating a separate UDM for each and every sire. I figured that I could go under filters and input a single sire, but if I had to this for each sire it would probably take days.

| jeff 4/10/2008 2:08:46 PM | In JCapper2008 sire is available in the factors drop down of the UDM Wizard. During UDM creation you are prompted for the name of the sire. Even though entering individual sire names separated by a dash or minus "-" character (without the quotes) should work, my recommendation (to be on the safe side) would be to create separate UDMs for each sire. And ALWAYS test any changes to the UDM in the Data Window - and in the case of Sire UDMs: view individual plays so that you can VERIFY that the UDM is only selecting horses sired by the sire named in the UDM. -jp .
