To lessen the impact on our system and yours, as well as our customers, we plan to keep PHA in our database and in all the files we distribute. This is what we did with Oak Tree at Hollywood and Oak Tree at Santa Anita. The official track codes used by Equibase were OTH and OSA for those meets, but we elected to keep HOL and SA to maintain continuity and prevent a host of problems. | ryesteve 11/16/2010 11:35:08 AM | I appreciate this decision. Using the "Oak Tree" designations in the track codes always seemed completely counter-intuitive to what a TRACK code is supposed to represent. Any word yet on whether or not the coding in the scratch feeds are going to change?

| jeff 11/17/2010 11:59:04 AM | Several weeks ago, Equibase changed the way PHA's track_name was listed in the xml from "Philadelphia Park" to "Parx Racing at Philadelphia Park"... To the best of my knowledge, there wasn't a pre-announcement. My first clue was that scratches for PHA weren't being parsed. A glance at the xml revealed why -- and changing the track name entry in the Notes field of the TrackAbbreviations Table took care of it. It's too soon (no word yet) for details on how the Brisnet scratch feeds will be affected. I appreciate the way HDW is handling this too. Keeping the 3 character track code the same in both the file name and in the data itself is their way of minimizing the impact on players. -jp . ~Edited by: jeff on: 11/17/2010 at: 11:59:04 AM~

| jeff 1/13/2011 6:16:31 PM | The track_name (without the quote characters) needed in your TrackAbbreviation table to make the module pick up scratches is: "PARX RACING" The change in track name broke the live tote link. I am currently working on a fix for that and will advise shortly.

Jeff; Is this in FileAbbrev, ToteAbbrev, or Notes in the Track Abbreviations table? The correct table entries for PHA/PRX are: HDW data customers: FileAbbrev: PHA ToteAbbrev: PHA Notes: Parx Racing Brisnet data customers: FileAbbrev: PRX ToteAbbrev: PRX Notes: Parx Racing -jp .
