| Ishmael 3/10/2010 8:09:58 AM | As NJ resident track is near and dear to my heart. Still one of few nice places to watch racing live. But dont think this plan will work. They are competing directly with Saratoga and Belmont (to say nothing of Philly and Delaware and all the other tracks that run Friday-Sunday. Cant see this working. Hope I am wrong. I have to laugh though at how casinos have even horseplayers fooled. I have read on several forums how Nj racing has been "subsidized" by the casinos. Its actually the other way around. The tracks have tried to put in slots, want to, and public wants it, but the casinos wont allow. Nor will politicians allow a vote on it. So casinos have been paying off the tracks. Not a subsidy in any way shape or form. Yet thats still how people perceive it
