Keenland in the ninth produced a upr pick on Samba Rooster. For some reason the trainer would not permit Gomez to ride with a whip.

Anyone have some insight on why the trainer would do this?

Should this horse be elimnated with this type of equipment change?

I didn't know that and played him to W/P and he just couldn't hang on for the win, but the place paid $17.00

They said on TV that the horse didn't like it a bit. Never did say exactly why.
I had him in the Keeneland contest. Help me break the 300 mark. (not points, position)hehe

I don't think he would have got the win, with a whip? He was all out it looked like to me.

Some horses sulk when whipped, which is going to give you the opposite of the desired effect. Since most jockeys will use the whip out of habit, if you know it's going to adversely impact the horse's performance, it's best to remove the temptation to use it.
