For better or worse I am much less of a "fan" then I used to be. Much less sentimental about the game and much more focused on making money. But moments like yesterday still show the fan inside me is still there.

In the Forego, run half an hour earlier, the top 3 finishers came from 12th, 11th and 9th (despite fractions that were not especially fast for these horses); the 3 horses that finished behind RA were the three horses who trailed early. Those that ran with her early barely were able to finish the race... or in the case of D'Tara, literally couldn't finish the race.

pdavid6 9/6/2009 12:32:20 PM | And to think I was up there on vacation for a week leading up to the Travers. I wish I could have been there a week later to witness her Greatness. Jeff, I to bet against her and was in such awe over her performance that I didn't care if I had a losing ticket. In fact I was so trilled by the race afterwards that I felt the hair on the back of my neck standing up and I was shacking with excitement. I have never had that feeling before in all my years playing and watching this game, even when a horse I owned won at Belmont a couple of years ago.
