DeanT 4/18/2008 10:40:28 AM | I hope Jeff does not mind (if so, please delete Jeff, no harm done.), but I am heading to the Gaming Summit at the end of the month as a panelist. In Canada, all source wagering is dropping, like a lot of places in the US. In an effort to kickstart wagering, the summit is being presented as listening to bettors, rather than preaching to them. One area that they are talking about addressing is takeouts.
I placed a feedback post up on my blog about takeout and the head of the conference is monitoring it. He wants to bring the motion to racing at a takeout session and see if they will listen. Will it work? Probably not, with racing the way that they are, but maybe we can at least make a dent that lower prices will help the player, and help the business.
I think I might try to show a Jcapper UDM or two, where ROI is upped at .07. For example, we have some tracks where JPR1 is 0.94 with a filter or two, or a UPR is 1.0. Making those 1.01 or 1.07 ROI of course we up our volume.
Anyway, since you are all serious players and enjoy the game, I thought you might want to help out by commenting about lower takeouts and maybe how they would help you win. If not, no biggie. All your replies will be read by racetrack people, though, so it is a chance to be heard
Thanks to Jeff and everyone else who responded.
Dean
