Release Notes:
New Key Features:
• A New Foundational Layer. Over the past 18 months I've been (quietly) designing
and coding out a foundational layer that enables roll out of new key features.
The JCapper Main Module filename in this program version has been changed from
JCapper_2025.exe to JCapper_2025-2026.exe (Edit desktop shortcuts accordingly.)
In this program version you will find:
* The JCapper Installer, JCapper Main Module, and HDW File Mgr now contain XML
Manifests. This "should" result in automatic True Admin Rights from Windows
7, 8, 10, and 11 upon startup.
* GroupName Transformations in UPR Tools that enable you to create Sharp Odds
Lines curve fitted from the data.
* New Prob Expression Behaviors that create Sharp Estimates curve fitted from
the data.
* Beyond MLR and CLogit Models, the UPR Tools Expression Builder now enables
you to create Beta Transformed Opinion Pooling Models (BTOP or BLP.)
* New BackupMgr Module. I'll need to create a help doc and videos. Once you
understand how to use it you can seamlessly copy HDW Data and Result Files,
Brisnet Data and Result Files, and JCapper .mdb files etc. to anywhere -
including external hard drives and thumb drives.
In the coming weeks and months expect to see me roll out:
* parsing tote and will pays data with Node.js scripts and direct integration
into the JCapper Main Module.
* Introduction of a JCapper Stat Tool that performs CLogit and BLP Estimation.
Of course this New Program Update delivers more than a few new enhancements:
* UPR Tools Expression Builder now includes Fast Quick Start Tools for both
MLR/CLogit and BTOP Models as well as Quick Grids for MLR/CLogit and BTOP.
* Upgrades to the Data Transformations Tool to facilitate export of "clean" data
from JCapper tables to .csv files in a statistical analysis ready format.
* Upgrades to the master EICA.csv file. EICA is an acronym for Everything I Care
About. The file itself is one row per horse (column headers in the top row) and
about 3k columns wide.
* The Main Module now generates an EICA2.csv file populated with the Full EICA
Column Set when you run a Calc Races. Same field mapping as the full EICA.csv
file populated during a DBBuild. Every factor in the program with the exception
of odds and odds based factors because the odds aren't known when you hit the
Calc Races button.
* "UI Locked" checkbox in the upper left hand corner of the Enhanced Settings
Module. Uncheck the box to unlock the UI and make settings changes. The new
checkbox is designed to prevent accidental settings changes.
* A new Menu Item on the PPs Generator that enables display of Works and Running
Lines in Chronological Order.
* HDW File Mgr Menu now offers four File Scans:
. JCP Files (V4 or V3)
. JCP Files (Fields 224 and 266)
. F.Zip Files (Zip Archive clean or bad)
. J.Zip Files (Zip Archive clean or bad)
* The HDW File Download Tool now auto scans the File Header during the download
process. If the file has a Bad .Zip Archive you get a warning message and the
file is not saved to your hard drive. This prevents you from replacing a good
file with bad when picking up chart corrections - something I recommend doing
on a regular basis.
* The JCapper, JCapper2, and JCapperSDK Import Routines are updated to handle new
Table and Column names. Watch the Import Videos below.
* The JCapper Main Module, DBBuilder, Scratch BOT, and the JCapper Scratch Parser
that parses HDW Scratches and Dist Changes text files have been updated to handle
BEL Off Turf to BEL Tapeta and BEL Off Inner Turf to BEL Tapeta exactly the same
as GPX Off Turf to GPX Tapeta for both Calc Races and DBBuilds:
"o" (lower case "o" string) in the surface field of JCapper Tables
2 (byte, integer, long integer) intSurface field of JCapper Tables
Note that Brisnet .XRD Files have "D" as the new surface for BEL Off Turf to BEL
Tapeta and BEL Off Inner Turf to BEL Tapeta. I added new code in the DBBuilder to
handle this as described above.
