Agree 100%.
Cut and paste from an email I sent this morning after seeing Tues files had gone up:
Hi Ryan,
THANK YOU.
There were many times over the years when Ron Tiller couldn't put files up - for all kinds of reasons (internet outage, router failure, time gaps in the xml transmitted by Equibase, etc.)
Even a handful of times when Ron had to drive to a location where he could get wifi and email files to Ken, Dave, and myself so we would deliver files to customers.
I became concerned after after not seeing Tues files go up by late afternoon Mon.
And of course even more so last night when customers started asking about files not going up.
Ron and Jim were always proactive and told us what to expect when a problem arose.
I know it can't be easy. HDW has a LOT of moving parts. And you've only been exposed to those moving parts for a few weeks. And of course documentation is minimal at best.
Again THANK YOU,
Jeff Platt
Cut and paste from the reply:
Thanks for your understanding, Jeff. We’re developing a regimen and will be more responsive and communicative when these situations arise (hopefully better at preventing them too).
I will keep you updated as we tackle currently outstanding issues.
Regards, Ryan
Ryan is sharp people.
He's been dropped into a situation with a lot of databases, tables, code, systems, and sub-systems he did not create.
There is little to no documentation.
And he is tasked with figuring everything out on the fly.
So things may get bumpy at times.
But all things considered he is doing a phenomenal job.
