UPDATE 12-31-2024 7:30 am Pacific

Happy New Year Everybody!

This announcement below is intended for those of you who recently installed JCapper Platinum 2025:

Item #1. And TOP PRIORITY on my do list today:

Publish a 2025 Main Module Only Program Update.

I added the Wind Prediction Notes you see on the Html Report, PPs, and SQL UDM Plays Report at the last minute thinking it would be a nice touch (which it is!)

But I failed:

I designed the underlying Wind Prediction Notes framework to handle a max of 50 tracks during a Calc Races. The greatest number of .JCP Files or tracks on any single race day over the years has been 37. So 50 is enough - for a Calc Races.

It never occurred to me the framework for those Wind Prediction Notes would "break" Mode 3 DBBuilds on a quarterly folder.

As soon as the 51st track is encountered the DBBuild errors out.

I did test a Mode 3 DBBuild prior to program release - but on a smaller test folder (45 racecards.)

And of course last night, I got what could easily turn out to be the first of many emails telling me the the DBBuilder is stopping early on in a Mode 3 Build - as soon as the 51st track on the folder is encountered actually.

It took me a an hour or so of debugging to figure out exact root cause.

Right now as I type this I have an updated 2025 Main Module running a Mode 3 DBBuild on a Yearly Folder - well past 3000 race cards as I type this.

Once it runs to completion without error:

I'll put up a 2025 Main Module Only Program Update along with Release Notes.

So avoid running a Mode 3 DBBuild for the time being.

--Edit:
Avoid Starting a Mode 4 BBuild for the time being as well.
Mode 5 should be ok.

Item #2. The Installer should have auto-created complete folder structure for 2025.

Files for 2025 need to be downloaded onto the c:\2025\Q1_2025 folder.

Remaining Charts and Chart Corrections for 2024 need to be downloaded to the c:\2024\Q1_2024 folder.

There will be a brief time period when you are switching back and forth between the two folders in the DFM before downloading files from the HDW site.

Also on my do list today: Make a video about using the 2025 DFM and HDW File Mgr to do that. Show how the two modules interact with each other while switching back and forth between folders prior to downloading files from the HDW site.

Hopefully, making year end transition as seamless as possible.

Update: 12-31-2024 12:03 pm pacific

DBBuild in Mode 3 on a Yearly Folder just finished (ran to completion without error) a few minutes ago.

Compiling a Main Module Only Program Update. I'll have it up on the 2025 JCapper Program Download Server as soon as I can.

I also cut two new videos:

Create Folder Structure for the coming New Year in the DFM:
http://www.JCapper.com/Podcasts/FolderStructureForTheNewYear.mp4

Switching Back and Forth Between Calendar Folders in the DFM and HDW File Mgr:
http://www.JCapper.com/Podcasts/DownloadingToNewQuarterlyFolder.mp4

Both are uploading to the server as I type this.

(give it a few minutes.)
