Rankings help anyone? |
SILVER01HDW 12/5/2024 12:35:02 PM | Date: DEC 5 TRACK: GP RACE: 3 HORSE: 4-DUNDIE
Please explain how this horse would get a Rank 6 for Factor Compound E1...
Thank you

Acorn54 12/5/2024 10:50:42 PM | i checked that horse on a different software with bris data file and it was ranked 6th for the E1 calculation there. i would think the rank you are getting with the jfactor software you have, closely resembles the same approach.

SILVER01HDW 12/6/2024 2:55:58 PM | Thx for confirming that ....
Still doesn't make sense
and that's why he wins at 7-1
He runs within a length of the fastest 1st and 2nd quarter of the day...
Crack this and your on your way to winners

Acorn54 12/6/2024 11:30:07 PM | the computation for first fraction has dundee ranked first. apparently there's more to E1 in jcapper, than a simple, fastest at first call. jeff would be the one to elaborate, if he so chooses.

Acorn, Can you explain exactly what you mean by computation for first fraction? Or better yet post your calculation?
Silver01HDW, Can you pretend I'm a 5 year old... now THAT shouldn't be hard to do... and explain to me what you are looking at (pre-race) to suggest Dundee was the fastest or near fastest early horse in the race?
Looking at individual running lines in the PPs and doing the math in my head, I have the top 5 fastest 2f fractions run by the horses in the race as follows:
GPX 12-05-2024 R3
Num Horse Race Fraction Lengths #5 ZIO LORENZO......... 10Nov24GP`r10... 21.59 + 1.00 Length #8 BEGANINGREENPOINT... 20Jul24GP`r9.... 21.31 + 2.50 Lengths #3 BLUE SPEARMAN....... 10Nov24GP`r10... 21.59 + 2.00 Lengths #6 GRUMLEY............. 21Sep22PID`r3... 21.66 + 2.25 Lengths #4 DUNDIE.............. 25Apr24GP6`r6... 22.16 led at 1st call`hd
Unless I'm completely misinterpreting the question (always a possibility) that makes Dundee, what - the 5th best in the race if you go by the single fastest 2f fraction run by each horse?
That said, Compound E1 is based on a weighted average of selected E1 Pace Figs from the horse's running lines. (Something very different from raw fractional time depending on methodology of the figure maker.)

Acorn54 12/17/2024 10:56:12 PM | i should have qualified my statement that i got the first fraction computation from a software named "race prophet", i did not personally look at the fractions, race prophet is a software pace approach designed by someone that went by the name, colt cannon. i downloaded it from the wayback archives. since you actually looked at the 1call your figs are true first call velocity figs. i should have actually looked at the pps, sorry for my previous post that were misleading.

SILVER01HDW 12/20/2024 1:35:31 PM | Jeff ....
In you example , your using raw numbers Heres what I get using numbers based on adjusted pace FPS #5 ZIO LORENZO......... 10Nov24GP`r10 ...59.34 #8 BEGANINGREENPOINT... 20Jul24GP`r9...59.26 #3 BLUE SPEARMAN....... 10Nov24GP`r10...58.88 #6 GRUMLEY............. 21Sep22PID`r3........58.63 #4 DUNDIE.............. 25Apr24GP6`r6..........59.31
As you see Dundie shouldn't be at the bottom using time

TomV 12/20/2024 6:16:59 PM | The ranking maybe because of the days off. The only race in the last 120 days was at 8.5F & the horse was next to last.
Maybe there is a jcapper setting or algorithm that only goes back X number of days
What is your enhanced setting for the Internal time calculation set to?

SILVER01HDW 12/20/2024 6:31:38 PM | Didn't matter Tony...thx
I changed Days Back to 2 years (730)
Still Rank 6
I also have paceline selection to 10 going back 999 days
Apparently CompoundE1 has it own algorithm and I guess it can't be changed...Wish It could be user friendly
