final standings upon further review |
rkskipster 10/26/2008 10:30:17 AM | Contest 1. ryesteve 70pts. 2. hdcper 65 pts. 3. stranded 60 pts. Ryesteve won this using top 2 m/l but hdcper & stranded came within 1 win pick of taking it. Contest 2. 1. JackB 70.2 2. ryesteve 28.4 3. jens 21.0. If JackB did not hit the 50 pt. bonus for the exacta, ryesteve would have won. What I think this contest shows is how hard it is to make a tried and true UPR#. Out of 14 races over 2 days, the top 2 finishers each only had 3 winning picks out of thier top 2 UPR#s. Contest 3. 1. jeff $726 2. hdcper $348.70 3. rkskipster $165.50 . Jeff won this using the logical approach of proportional win betting. I do want to give kudos to hdcper for hitting 3 exactas on the final day. Well done everyone . thumbs up . Well back to the search for the holy grail. LOL rick

rkskipster 10/26/2008 8:50:29 AM | 2 final questions-- Would just boxing the euro shippers together in exb. produced a profit? and ryesteve won using top2 m/ls, could somebody with a large database check how the top 2 m/ls usally fare in the BC races. Just curious . thanks again rick

ryesteve 10/26/2008 8:55:32 AM | I love it how I won contest #1, "sorta" won contest #2, but in contest #3, where we had to turn those picks into actual bets, I was nowhere to be found. That pretty much says it all... hahahaha

Stranded 10/26/2008 9:11:45 AM | enjoyed the contest. lets do it again on maybe derby day.thanks,again.

JackB 10/26/2008 9:42:59 AM | Gonna have to light the objection sign on contest # 2.
Maybe mistaken silks on Saturday's card. ;)

rkskipster 10/26/2008 10:33:23 AM | I am bad. You won. I accidently typed in the wrong name. Along with losing all 3 contests yesterday and losing real money, I wake up with a flat tire. 3 strikes I am out of here. LOL thumbs up to JackB rick . I have corrected the mistake. Well its not like stewards havn't ever put up the wrong horse.

Jens 10/26/2008 10:35:57 AM | Congratulations to the winners and thanks to Rick for starting the contest. As for me, it's back to the data window with my tail between my legs.
|
JackB 10/26/2008 11:54:42 AM | Thanks Rick. Sorry Bill.
This contest was fun.
Made a little with Zenyatta's P3, but that was it. Yesterday, didn't even come close. A bull and bass fiddle comes to mind but the bull ran off.
That UPR is prime power only.

DeanT 10/26/2008 5:36:06 PM | The tan HANA ball cap kicks some ass, imo. I am buying a few if we ever get the webpage figured out :)

Hdcper 10/26/2008 7:27:37 PM | Great Contest, I really enjoyed it!!
Gee I finished second in two divisions, but just like the races, they never remember who ran second.
By the way Jeff, was the $75 winner pointed out by a workout pattern?
Bill

JustRalph 10/28/2008 2:54:08 AM | any chance of getting a "breeders cup in review" kind of post from you jeff?
I didn't do well at all with the program over the Weekend...... in fact I stopped playing after 4 races on Saturday. I realized I was way out of whack.
I would love to hear your opine on the weekend

Barez46D 10/28/2008 10:02:39 AM | Contest was a lot of fun. ROI=$0, better than I usually do!(lol)
|
ryesteve 10/28/2008 11:40:18 AM | Thanks Jeff!
My 2 cents on saturday... the euro domination made it tough on anyone's computer program, because PPs don't give us any data to work with on these horses. Old-fashioned handicapping was probably the only way to go here... I don't think anything in the data files was going to lead you to those winners.
