Charlie James 6/8/2014 2:17:03 PM | Probably happened in the first stride or two out of the gate. Inasmuch as injuries go -- generally not that serious and they do recover with time off. Horses are individuals and some actually do win races with same or similar injury.
Dead heat 4th within -- what?? -- 2L after 12F. If clean trip/no injury is he 2L better than that? Hard to say.
Imo, owner's post race comments a complete embarrassment for the sport. Win or lose -- a true sportsman -- congratulates the winner for being better that day. I'm a big believer that anyone can handle winning. That's easy. How we handle adversity is what defines us.
