Not so. It depends on the individual factor.
Some, like TPace, are based on data points read from the most recent running line.
However, many of the factors in the program are the result of using data points from multiple running lines.
For example...
• PClass, CPace, PMI, CMI, Opt Points, JRating, AProb
• JPR, PRating, QRating, Alchemy, JPRClass, CFA, JPRMLProb, UPRMLProb
• CompoundAP, CompoundSP, CompoundEarly, CompoundLate, CompundPaceFit, UPRZScoreProb, BettorsToteProb
• EarlyConsensus, LateConsensus, ClassConsensus, FigConsensus, FormConsensus, UPROpinionProb
Each of the above bullet points and the factor names to the right of the bullet point represents a "generation" of new factors introduced to JCapper over the years.
Each of the above factor names (as well as many others) are the result of using data points from multiple running lines as inputs and feeding them into algorithms which then generate resulting factor values as outputs.
Here's a link to the Glossary of Supported Factors found in JCapper page at JCapper.com: http://www.jcapper.com/factorsglossary.asp
Below is a cut and paste from the page at the above link:
--quote:"CompoundLate - CompoundLate is a measurement of late speed - ability from the the second point of call to the finish line. CompoundLate is a compound number - a mini power rating based on selected Late pace figures found in a horse's past performance record." --end quote
