Is it just me or are there more incompetent jockeys these days? Between them and 2 disqualifications in the last 2 wks., I am ready to pull the rest of my hair out.-- end of rant---question-- Since it is the end of year, does jockey or trainer win pct. reset to zero tomorrow?? Also HAPPY NEW YEAR Rick

Do the rider/trainer stats reset the 1st of each year?

Enhanced Settings Module:
http://www.jcapper.com/messageboard/avatars/EnhancedSettings08122012.jpg

The above screenshot shows the Enhanced Settings Module where the persisted settings allow you to customize the stats the interface inserts into your .JCP files.

Note the settings I am using... specifically the bottom 4 rows:

I am using the interface to get two sets of stats inserted into my .JCP files... a rolling 90 days... and a rolling 365 days. Note that these apply to both rider and trainer - and in turn, the CXN rating generated by the interface for me.

That said, the settings do provide for current year only as well as previous year only in the event that is what you want to use.

Hope I managed to get most of that out in a way that makes sense.

Keeping with the theme of things that reset with the start of a new year...

Reminder:

• If you haven't already done so, its time to create a 2013 calendar year folder - and begin using it for 2013 data and results files.

• Any and all results files for 2012 races need to be saved to your 2012 folder. (Be careful about this.)

• You want to avoid mixing files from different years on the same folder.

Happy New Year to all!

Jeff does your reply deal only with hdw files? How about bris-- also does this 90 day jky. stats affect udms using jky. stats? thanks rick P.S. I do use bris . edit I went to bris and ckd. the file structure, only last year and present yr. stats. so I guess there is no way to get 90 day stats. I thought that would be useful for hot and cold streaks. oh well--- rick

I just have folders labeled "November 2012" or "January 2013," etc. Is that OK?

The folders themselves can have any name you want them to have. The important thing is that you store data for different years on different/separate folders.

The key reason I tell people NEVER mix data for different years on the same folder is that the file names have elements for track, month, and day of month only (nothing for year.)

If you were to download a 2013 AQU file for Jan 03, 2013 the first few characters of the file name would be AQU0103. Save enough 2013 files to your 2012 folder and you WILL run across the situation where you unknowingly replace a 2012 file having the same file name. Do this for just a small handful of files and you WILL make a mess out of your database.

My Folder Structure - Windows Explorer Screenshot:
http://www.jcapper.com/messageboard/avatars/folders_2013a.jpg

The above linked to screenshot shows my own 2013 folder structure when viewed in Windows Explorer. Note that I have a 2013 folder - and beneath that four quarterly folders - one per each calendar quarter. Data and results files for Q1 2013 (the months of Jan-Feb-Mar 2013) will be stored on the Q1_2013 folder. Data and results files for Q2 2013 (the months of Apr-May-Jun 2013) will be stored on the Q2_2013 folder, etc.

My Folder Structure - DFM Screenshot:

The above screenshot shows my 2013 folder structure as seen in the DFM (Data Folder Manager.)

Note the two sub-folders named Folder2 and Folder3. I use these two folders when loading data files into the program through the DFM Card Loader. The additional folders enable me to better manage busy race days.
